Apple is planning to launch new AirPods with shorter stems this year, and new AirPods Pro with no stems at all in 2022.
This is according to Bloomberg’s Apple expert Mark Gurman, whose sources suggest that the new 3rd generation AirPods will feature a similar design to the AirPods Pro.
As for the second-generation AirPods Pro, these new Pro AirPods are said to feature new motion sensors and may not feature shafts in a similar design to the upcoming Beats Studio Buds. The Beats Studio Buds are set to launch in June – possibly at WWDC. The new AirPods Pro have been delayed until 2022 though, according to the report.
The Bloomberg report also suggests that Apple may launch new colour variations for the AirPods Max, and it mentions Apple’s development of a HomePod with a screen.
